Agos — Agospay / Agospay Zero

Agos Ducato S.p.A. · Visa

2.9/5 1.5/5 · Data verified on

Agospay is the fixed-instalment/revolving credit card from Agos Ducato (a consumer-finance company of the Crédit Agricole–Banco BPM group), on the Visa network. It has no annual fee and no issuance cost, but the credit is expensive: paying by instalments applies a nominal rate (TAN) of about 15.5% and an APR (TAEG) of 18.64%; the Agospay Zero version is TAN 15.95% / TAEG 19.17%, with single purchases ≥€500 repayable in 10 instalments at 0% TAN. Add a €1.25 monthly management charge and stamp duty. It is essentially consumer credit dressed up as a card: it only makes sense if you use the interest-free plan on large Agospay Zero purchases and avoid ordinary revolving.

Plans & pricing

Strengths

  • No annual fee and no card issuance cost
  • Agospay Zero: single purchases ≥€500 repayable in 10 instalments at 0% TAN
  • Fully online application and management; Visa network accepted everywhere
  • Plannable monthly instalment, useful to spread large purchases without an overdraft
  • No notable sovereignty advantage documented.

Weaknesses

  • Expensive revolving credit: 18.64% APR (Agospay) and 19.17% (Agospay Zero) on instalment use
  • €1.25 monthly management charge + stamp duty, costs left out of the 'zero fee' claims
  • 4% cash-withdrawal commission, with no minimum or maximum
  • A finance-company product built to make you pay in instalments: minimum repayment inflates total interest
  • Traditional credit card: not self-custody — the account requires full KYC, a credit check, and can be closed or reported to credit bureaus by the issuer.
  • Full KYC required: verified identity, zero pseudonymity.
  • Funds can be frozen at the platform’s discretion.
  • Subject to regulation (Supervised financial intermediary (IT)): reporting to authorities and freezes on order.
  • FATF-aligned jurisdiction: strong cooperation with authorities.

Verdict

C D ★ 2.9/5 ★ 1.5/5

Agospay is a finance-company credit card, not a bank-account card: its core is consumer credit. The only real advantage is the interest-free 10-instalment plan on Agospay Zero purchases ≥€500; everything else on revolving is very expensive (18.64–19.17% APR), on top of €1.25/month management and 4% on withdrawals. The low rating (2.9/C) reflects exactly the cost of revolving credit: paying the minimum instalment piles up interest that can far exceed the perceived saving. It is fine only as a deliberate, interest-free instalment tool, never as an everyday credit card.

A credit card is a credit line, not custody of funds: there is neither self-custody nor a user balance. It is a fully tracked and censorable instrument — full KYC, a supervised Italian finance-company issuer that profiles transactions and can suspend the line or revoke the limit at its discretion. On the sovereignty lens it is the opposite of trustless tools: no anonymity, no censorship resistance.
