Rapidz Card

Rapidz Pay · Mastercard

1.5/5 0.9/5 · Data verified on

The Rapidz Card was a custodial crypto card on the Mastercard network issued by Rapidz Pay, Inc., converting cryptoassets into a dollar balance (Fireblocks custody, full KYC). The service can no longer be verified: as of 23 July 2026 the official rapidz.io site serves a Namecheap parking page and the domain has no MX records (no email can work), while the app is still listed on Google Play. We found no official shutdown announcement, but without an active website it is impossible to sign up or verify conditions and licences.

Strengths

  • Free issuance and crypto-to-USD balance conversion on the Mastercard network
  • Multi-chain support (Ethereum, Solana, Tron, Arbitrum) with Fireblocks custody
  • Multiple regulatory registrations: FinCEN (USA), Malaysia, AUSTRAC, FNTT
  • No notable sovereignty advantage documented.

Weaknesses

  • Official rapidz.io site reduced to a Namecheap parking page and domain without MX records as of 23/7/2026: service unverifiable
  • No public shutdown announcement: maximum uncertainty for anyone with funds on the card (custodial model, no self-custody)
  • Historically: no cashback, FX markup up to 2.5%, 2% on ATM withdrawals, team not publicly verified
  • Custodial: the platform holds your funds and can freeze or lose them.
  • Full KYC required: verified identity, zero pseudonymity.
  • Subject to regulation (Rapidz Pay is registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) with FinCEN in the US, as a Money Broking Business in Malaysia (licence MB/25/0129), as a Digital Currency Exchange with AUSTRAC in Australia and as a virtual currency exchange with the FNTT in Lithuania, subject to AML/CFT/KYC obligations.): reporting to authorities and freezes on order.

Verdict

D D ★ 1.5/5 ★ 0.9/5 Estimated net annual cost: €0/year

The decisive point is that the service can no longer be verified: as of 23/7/2026 rapidz.io is a Namecheap parking page with no MX records, and no shutdown announcement can be found. For a custodial card this is the worst-case scenario: funds held by the issuer (Fireblocks custody) and no official channel reachable. The regulatory registrations (FinCEN MSB, Malaysia, AUSTRAC, FNTT) only provided AML/KYC oversight, not balance protection. Tier D score due to the service's status.

Low sovereignty: fully custodial model with mandatory full KYC and automatic conversion into a USD balance held by the issuer. No self-custody, weak privacy and full dependence on Rapidz Pay infrastructure.

FAQ

Is the Rapidz Card custodial?

Yes: funds are held by the issuer Rapidz Pay with custody via Fireblocks and converted into a USD balance at the point of payment, so you do not have self-custody of the keys.

How much does it cost to use the Rapidz Card abroad?

Issuance is free but up to 2.5% markup applies on non-USD transactions plus a 2% fee on ATM withdrawals; there is no cashback.

Update history

  1. Service no longer verifiable: rapidz.io serves a Namecheap parking page and the domain has no MX records; www.rapidz.io fails the TLS handshake. The 'Rapidz: Crypto Wallet & Hub' app is still on Google Play and no official shutdown announcement was found. Score adjusted to the service's status (1.5, tier D), to be revisited should the site come back online.
